I have always enjoyed the arts. Working with clay and other mediums, in the past, permitted me to express my inner passions. I have in the past six years found my passion and self-expression directed towards impressionistic style landscapes. These years have brought me great challenges and satisfaction. I try to create in my oil paintings a sense of calm and peace through the use of rich colors which convey the ever-changing effects of light within the landscape as viewed through my minds-eye. Taking this approach allows me to alter reality based on the way I choose to compose the parts.
For me, landscape painting is a never ending journey of exploration of the mysteries of nature and the laws that govern its continuation. I hope to convey in my paintings this journey of mystery and delight.
BRUSHSTROKES
I have recently begun a daily BLOG where I intend to post daily or almost daily paintings. The works that I am posting will consist of small 5"x7" pieces centered on daily activities or encounters. The larger pieces will focus on scenes that I consider "works in progress". Either way, I am looking forward to sharing my success and frustrations with you.
